Paul R. Ades - born on May 4, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York.
After graduating from Lehigh University (B.S. in B.A.,1962, with a major in accounting), Mr. Ades went on to earn his J.D., with honors, from Fordham Law School in 1965. During his time at Fordham Law, he was honored by being elected to the Fordham Law Review from 1963-1964 and by serving as an Articles Editor from 1964-1965. Mr. Ades served in the US Army from 1965-1967, resigning with the rank of Captain.
Throughout nearly five decades of legal service, Mr. Ades has served on numerous committees and professional organizations. As a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, he served as Treasurer from 1972-75 and Director from 1984-87. He served on the Grievance Committee from 1976-79, the Judiciary Committee from 1978-79, 1981-84 (when he served as Chair), and 2005-2008, and he is currently a member of the Committee on Ethics and Professionalism. He also has been a member of substantive law committees, including the Creditor’s Rights, Real Property, and Surrogate’s Court committees.
Mr. Ades also is an active member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, and a Fellow of the New York State Bar Foundation.
Mr. Ades’ dedication and expertise have been recognized many times throughout his career. For the last 15 years, since he opened his firm, Mr. Ades has been honored with the AV Preeminent Peer Review rating from Martindale –Hubbell – a distinction bestowed upon attorneys who consistently represent the highest quality legal work, integrity, professionalism and ethical standards.
Mr. Ades continues to expand his role in the community by serving as a board member for numerous organizations. Since 2014, he has served as an active Member of the Community Board of Southside Hospital (part of the Northwell Health system). He also is a Founding Board Member of Southside Hospital’s Community Outreach and Health Education Council. He also serves on the Board of Trustees as an Independent Trustee of various Legg Mason Equity and Variable Equity Mutual Funds for the last 15 years. Prior thereto, he served on predecessor mutual funds since 1982.
